UNION COUNTY, SC : A single-vehicle accident on Friday, July 28, 2017
A single-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Pauline man Friday afternoon is being investigated by the Union County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
In a statement released Friday night, Union County Coroner William Holcombe announced that Jacob Taylor Wade, 23, 1961 Mt. Lebanon Road, Pauline, had been killed in the accident that occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on the Linersville Road. Holcombe stated that Wade was alone in his pickup truck when the accident occurred and was ejected from the vehicle. He stated that Wade was transported to Union Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m.
In his report on the accident, Cpl Bill Rhyne of the SC Highway Patrol stated that the accident occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. Rhyne said that Wade was traveling south in a 2002 Chevrolet S10 on Linersville Road when he ran off the right side of the road near Brown Road, over corrected and ran off the left side of the road and his vehicle overturned. He said that Wade was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Holcombe stated that no other information about the accident was available as of Friday night.
