Two cars collided near Milford injures two people
Two cars collided on Monday afternoon in the area of 245 West St., sending two people to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Police and fire officials responded to a crash in front of the Mobico auto dealership at about 1 p.m.
As it pulled out of the Whitcomb House, an assisted living complex, a black Chevy Malibu driven by a 20-year-old Milford woman struck a blue Volkswagen Jetta traveling north on West Street, according to Milford Police Sgt. Michael Pasacane.
The crash sent both cars onto the edge of Mobico’s front parking lot, Pasacane said, and the Chevy ended up colliding with a Nissan Pathfinder on display for sale. All three vehicles were damaged, and debris could be seen on the southbound side of West Street.
Fire officials used the Jaws of Life to free the woman in the Chevy, Pasacane said. She was taken by ambulance Milford Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the Jetta, a 48-year-old man from Upton, was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with a possible broken leg, Pasacane said.
Police halted traffic on both sides of the road as emergency crews worked.
Pasacane said the woman would be cited for failing to yield.
