Oregon woman who died in accident near Coalinga is identified
A 42-year-old woman from Eugene, Ore. who died in a solo vehicle accident on Interstate 5 northeast of Coalinga on Saturday night has been identified as Cynthia Gay, the California Highway Patrol said.Gay was driving north on I-5, just south of Highway 198 in Fresno County, when she entered the dirt median and lost control of the vehicle about 8:48 p.m., the CHP said.
The vehicle overturned and Gay was thrown out. She sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, the CHP said. The accident is still under investigation.
