Newtown,PA : South Abington Twp. police officer involved in Newton Twp. wreck on Thursday, 10th May 2018

Three people were taken to the hospital Thursday after a wreck on Winola Road.

The wreck happened around 7:50 p.m., when a car struck another car turning into the Schultzville Deli, 1309 Winola Road, according to Newton Ransom Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Jeff LaCoe. The impact sent one of the cars careening into a South Abington police car parked in the deli’s lot.

The officer, who was not identified late Thursday, was sitting in the car when it was struck, LaCoe said. Crews evaluated the officer at the scene but he was not taken to the hospital.

Ambulances took three others involved in the wreck to area hospitals. Conditions were not immediately available.
