Chattanooga, TN : Person suffers serious injuries in motorcycle wreck in McMinn County on Sunday, November 6, 2016

A person was airlifted to Erlanger hospital Sunday following a motorcycle wreck in McMinn County.

The rider of the motorcycle was involved in a crash near County Road 3 and County Road 50, according to Lieutenant John Harmon of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Harmon confirmed the rider's injuries were "serious."

The rider's identity and information about the cause of the wreck were not immediately available.

The intersection where the wreck occurred is about two and a half miles west of Interstate-75.
