BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ : Pedestrian walking on roadway struck, killed by car on Friday, January 6th 2017
Authorities say a car struck and killed a woman who was walking on a Burlington County roadway.
Burlington Township police say 42-year-old Dawn Fisher was walking “in the lanes of travel” on Salem Road when she was struck around 6:45 p.m. Friday by a northbound car.
Fisher was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later.
Authorities are trying to determine why Fisher was walking in the roadway. They also say the dark clothing she was wearing and poor lighting on the road may have contributed to the crash.
The driver of the car that hit Fisher remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
No charges have been filed.
