Chicago, IL : 8 hurt in multi-vehicle traffic crash on Northwest Side Sunday evening, August 14, 2016
Six people, including two children, were taken to hospitals Sunday evening following a multi-vehicle crash on Chicago's Northwest Side.
The wreck happened about 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Western and Thorndale avenues and hurt eight people, two of them children, according to police and the Chicago Fire Department.
Chicago police spokeswoman Officer Michelle Tannehill said two cars crashed head-on with a motorcycle.
A 92-year-old woman was among three serious to critical patients were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and two additional critical patients were taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital and Saint Francis in Evanston, according to the Fire Department and police. A sixth person was in fair condition and taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital.
Two additional victims were not taken to hospitals but were treated on the scene, the Fire Department said.
