A four-vehicle crash about 8 p.m. Saturday killed three people.
A 31-year-old man driving south on U.S. 17 in a Chevrolet pickup swerved into the left-turn lane, hitting a van and sending it into the lanes of U.S. 17 North, North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper Corey Blackwell said. Another van and a Toyota Camry struck the van next.
A man in his 80s who was airlifted and a woman taken by ambulance died of their injuries at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Blackwell said.
