A 19-year-old was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions after he caused a van to hit the back of a school bus Monday morning, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers.

Troopers said around 6:30 a.m. a bus was slowing down while approaching a set of railroad tracks on White Horse Road near Two Notch Road when it was hit from behind by a van.

They said a 19-year-old in another vehicle was traveling too fast for conditions and hit the van causing the van to hit the back of the bus.

According to troopers, the school bus driver, two children and another adult were on the bus and all were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The principal at Legacy Charter said the bus belonged to the school, and the bus aide was taken to the hospital, as a precaution, to be checked for a neck injury.

Troopers said the driver of the van, the 19-year-old driver in the other vehicle and a juvenile passenger were all taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
