Mead, CO : One dead, two injured in car crash on Colo. 66 on Monday, 10th December 2018
One man died, and two others were hospitalized, after the car he was driving struck three vehicles Tuesday afternoon in a crash on Colo. 66 in Mead.
The 31-year-old Eaton man, who has not yet been publicly identified, was reportedly driving eastbound in the 2900 block of Colo. 66 when he sideswiped a vehicle, spun into oncoming traffic and struck cars at a high rate of speed around 1:40 p.m., according to a Mead Police news release.
The man was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on scene, and two other drivers were transported to an area hospital for their injuries.
Mead police officers conducted an on-scene investigation, during which Colo. 66 was closed between Weld County Road 7 and Foster Ridge Drive. Police do not yet know whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
