Escambia County, FL : One dead in hit and run in Escambia County on Thursday, 17th January 2019

Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a pickup truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash Thursday evening in Escambia County.

At about 6:30 p.m., the pickup truck struck a pedestrian on Fairfield Drive, east of the intersection with Pace Boulevard, and fled the scene, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Authorities are searching for a pickup truck with front and left side damage from striking the pedestrian, according to information provided by FHP.

The vehicle may be white or light silver or gray in color. It may also be a dually-style truck with two wheels on each side of the rear axle.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the pedestrian who was killed in the crash.
