hree people were killed in a crash that involved three vehicles in Sussex County early Sunday morning, according to Virginia State Police spokeswoman Michelle Anaya.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. on Route 460, west of Walnut Hill Road.
Anaya said a Kia Soul was driving east on the highway and crossed the center lane, hitting a Honda Accord head-on. That impact caused a Toyota Scion to rear-end the Honda Accord, Anaya said.
Sussex crash

Christy Allen, 30, of the 600 block of Washington Street in Emporia was driving the Kia Soul, and Raquisha Shonta Broady, 28, of the 400 block of Meade Street in Emporia was the passenger.
Anaya said neither women were wearing a seat belt and that Allen died at the hospital and Broady died on impact. Alcohol was a factor in the crash, Anaya said.
The passenger of the Honda, 25-year-old Dequincy Lamar Jackson of the 3800 block of Greenwood Drive in South Chesterfield, was not wearing a seat belt and died on impact, Anaya said.
Sussex crash
A 2008 Toyota Scion rear-ended a Honda Accord after the Honda was hit by a Kia Soul going the opposite direction on Route 460, state police said. The driver of the Scion was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. Three people died in the accident, according to state police. (Virginia State Police)
The driver of the Honda Accord and Toyota Scion were both wearing their seat belts, Anaya said. The driver of the Honda suffered major injuries, and the driver of the Toyota was treated for minor injuries, according to Anaya.
Sunday morning’s crash was the second fatal crash on Route 460 in Sussex County this weekend.
