NEAR ALLISON, IA : 64-year-old Greene resident dead after semi-truck crash near Allison on Friday, 23rd June 2023

A crash at Highway 3 and Newell Ave. leaves one driver dead and a semi-truck driver injured at 3:12 p.m. on Friday.

64-year-old Paul Yerkes of Greene was driving a 2001 Ford van going west on Highway 3. A semi-truck driven by Timothy Grittmann was heading east on Highway 3. Yerkes drove into the east lane causing a crash.

Iowa State Patrol says Yerkes died on scene and Grittmann was taken to a local hospital for injuries.
