A man is dead following a motorcycle crash on Interstate 24 in East Nashville.

The wreck happened in the westbound lanes at the Ellington Parkway exit at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said 43-year-old Michael D. Lewis lost control of his 2004 Harley Davidson during the turn onto the exit ramp and hit two sign posts.

Lewis, of Smyrna, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died.

Hours before this wreck, a motorcyclist was killed in a wreck on Donelson Pike.
