Traverse City, MI : Man dies after crash in Acme Township on Tuesday, June 21, 2016

A man died at Munson Medical Center from injuries he received in a crash in Acme Township.

A two-car collision at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday closed U.S. 31 North for hours after a vehicle struck the back of another vehicle stopped in the roadway, according to a release from the Grand Traverse County sheriff's department.

Several passengers were injured and taken to Munson, the release stated. A 5-year-old was transferred to a Grand Rapids-area hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
