Franklin, TN : Teen injured after crash his vehicle into a downtown Franklin business early Thursday morning, May 7, 2015

A 15-year-old is in the hospital after crashing his car into a business on Main Street in a Middle Tennessee town.

According to the Franklin Police Department, an officer stopped a vehicle that was "driving erratically" just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

The driver allegedly took off while the officer was walking over, then crashed into the retail store Lulu.

Police said the officer was not pursuing the driver at the time of the crash.

The teen was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said he will face multiple charges.

The business, which has serious damage, will remain closed for the time being.

City engineers said the building is still structurally sound. No other businesses on Main Street were affected.
