Lexington, KY : Lexington firefighter charged with DUI in hit-and-run crash at bar on Friday night, September 19, 2014
A Lexington firefighter has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested on charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts says officers found Jared McCargo on Friday night shortly after a report that a white Ford Expedition backed over the curb at a high rate of speed, struck man seated at a café table in front of The Beer Trappe, and then drove into the front of the building.
Roberts says witnesses identified the passenger in the vehicle, who got out as the driver left. She returned to the scene. She was not identified, but transported to Central Baptist Hospital for treatment.
The man struck by the truck was not identified. Roberts says he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
