Hays, KS : Woman injured in crash with semi on I-70 in Ellis County on Monday afternoon, May 9, 2016
A woman was was injured Monday afternoon when her vehicle was struck by a semi on I-70 in Ellis County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Anntanette Nelson, 22, Hays, was eastbound in the interstate about two miles east of Hays in a 2003 Ford Ranger at about 4 p.m. when she entered the median at a turn-around, made a U-turn to go back west and pulled out in front of a 2015 Peterbuilt semi driven by Jonathan Godbee, 34, Valley View, Texas.
The semi hit the Ranger, causing it to come to rest in the median, while the semi came to rest in the north ditch.
Nelson was taken to Hays Medical Center with injuries, while Godbee was unhurt. Both were wearing seat belts.
