Carlisle, PA : One person injured in I-81 crash near Carlisle Tuesday, January 3, 2017
One person was injured after a multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 north in Carlisle Tuesday morning.
Cumberland Goodwill EMS Assistant Chief Nathan Harig said EMS crews were called to the crash site, but no one was transported from the scene. They later received a call notifying them that one person suffered minor injuries.
The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday in the northbound lanes between mile marker 47 and 49, between the College and Hanover Street exits.
The crash closed both northbound lanes while first responders were on the scene, prompting some backlog of traffic on I-81 north and in downtown Carlisle. Both lanes were closed for about an hour and a half.
This most recent crash was in the same area of I-81 as the triple-fatal crash last week. That crossover crash was caused by a blown tire on a dump truck.
No information was immediately available about what caused Tuesday's crash.
