Huntington Station, New York
Police have charged a man with drunken driving after a crash on Long Island left a woman dead and two men injured.
Police say Ryan Gurecki was driving a sport utility vehicle Sunday night in Huntington Station when he slammed into an SUV stopped at a red light.
Police say he also sideswiped a minivan.
They say 56-year-old Karen Holden, who was a passenger in the second SUV, died from her injuries at a hospital. Her husband, William, and their 23-year-old son, Robert, also were injured.
Gurecki pleaded not guilty Monday to a DWI charge. He underwent a court-ordered blood test.
Prosecutors said witnesses claimed he was driving at a high rate of speed.
Bail was set at $250,000. His attorney did not immediately comment on the charges.
