Anchorage, AK : Man, believed drunk, suffers life-threatening injuries after being hit by car on Thursday September 17 2015
A man, believed to be intoxicated, suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday after he was hit by a car on Kalifornsky Beach Road near Soldotna, Alaska State Troopers wrote in a dispatch Friday.
Troopers were notified just before 9 p.m. Thursday of an intoxicated pedestrian walking along the road near milepost 18.
While AST was enroute, the complainant reported the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle, a gray 2006 Pontiac car, driven by Kearston Maclellan, age 31 of Soldotna," troopers wrote.
Troopers identified the pedestrian as 32-year-old Nathan Arne Tikka of Soldotna.
Witnesses reported seeing Tikka walk into the traffic lane immediately before being struck. Lighting conditions were dark. Tikka was wearing dark clothes," troopers wrote.
Tikka was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
