YORK COUNTY, SC : 2 die in collision after attempted traffic stop on Thursday, 15th February 2024

A driver and passenger inside a vehicle that struck a tree Thursday night have died following a police chase, the York County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to calls regarding the incident around 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, near Harper Gault Road near Oakdale Road by Rock Hill.

A passenger was found suffering from injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to an area medical center where they were later pronounced dead.
