NASHVILLE, TN : Charges pending against driver after boy killed another injured in rollover crash on Thursday, 8th February 2024

One North Carolina boy is dead after being hit by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 40 West after two boys were thrown into the roadway during a rollover crash Thursday morning, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).

THP said at about 11:40 a.m., a Subaru Forester ran off the right side of I-40 West in Smith County into a ditch line where it hit an embankment, causing it to overturn.

Two boys, ages 11 and 10, were ejected from the Subaru while it rolled over and were thrown into the roadway. One of the boys was struck by a tractor-trailer.
