3 injured in Osage County rollover accident

Two Bartlesville residents and one Pawhuska resident were hospitalized in Osage County late Monday afternoon when their car left the road and rolled, according to state troopers.
Injured in the car accident were 16-year-old Katelyn Shambles of Bartlesville and 13-year-old Laurel Culver of Pawhuska — both of whom were sent to Pawhuska Hospital where they were treated and released — and 9-year-old Hali Shambles of Bartlesville.
Pulse EMS transported the younger Shambles to the hospital from where she was then transferred by air to St. Frances in Tulsa. She was admitted there in stable condition, but with head, arms, external and internal trunk injuries.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 60, nearly a mile-and-half east of County Road 2809 in Osage County.
It happened when the 2004 Buick sedan driven by the older Shambles departed the roadway to the right while negotiating a curve to the left, overcorrected, returned to the roadway, overcorrected again and departed the roadway to the right, causing the vehicle to roll one time.
Halli Shambles, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and found 51 feet from the vehicle's resting point.
