Byram, MS : Three people killed and many others were injured in a fiery crash at I-55 On Saturday, August 20th, 2016

Three people have died and many others were transported to hospitals following a fiery crash on I-55.

There were nine vehicles involved in the crash - two 18-wheelers and nine cars.

According to Byram Police Chief, the crash was the worst accident he has ever worked.

There is construction in the area, but officials do not know if that was the cause of the wreck.

All northbound lanes are blocked on I-55 past the Siwell Road exit.

MHP is assisting with the accident and they say traffic is being diverted to the Siwell Road exit 85.
