APPLE VALLEY, CA : Lane reopens after fiery crash shuts I-15 in California on Thursday, March 30th 2017
Authorities have reopened one lane following a shutdown on northbound Interstate 15 caused by a fiery crash involving a big rig.
California Highway Patrol Officer Marcelo Llerena says no injuries were reported in the two-vehicle collision around 4 a.m. Thursday on the key route between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
He says the big rig driver rear-ended a pickup towing a trailer and both vehicles caught fire. Television news footage showed the two trucks’ charred remains spread across lanes.
Traffic was backed up for miles during the closure about 90 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
Llerena says it’s unclear how long the two remaining lanes would stay shut down.
