ORLANDO, FL : Man killed in rollover crash on State Road 417 in Orange County on Wednesday, 24th May 2023

A man was killed early Wednesday morning in a crash on State Route 417 in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The northbound lanes of SR-417 are closed near SR-528 (mile marker 24, FHP said. All traffic is being diverted at Moss Park Road.

According to FHP, an 18-year-old in a 2022 Dodge Challenger driving northbound on SR-417 attempted to change lanes and lost control of his vehicle. He struck a concrete barrier and then a 2014 Ford Escape, which caused the Escape to overturn.

The 69-year-old driver in the Ford Escape was taken to the hospital, where he died. The 18-year-old man was not hurt and stayed at the scene following the crash, FHP said.
