El Paso, TX : Motorcyclist dies in fatal wreck in far East El Paso on Thursday night, July 14, 2016

A 27-year-old man was killed Thursday night after he was speeding and crashed his motorcycle into the back of another vehicle in far East El Paso, officials said.

Anthony James Macias, of Horizon City, was allegedly speeding as he drove a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle at about 11 p.m. in the 1700 block of Joe Battle Boulevard, El Paso Police Department officials said.

He then struck the back of a 2015 Ford Mustang, which was being driven by Dylan Jamil Garcia, 18, officials said. Garcia is also from Horizon City.

Macias died at the scene due to the injuries he sustained in the wreck.

According to police, the motorcycle had been reported stolen in May.

No additional information has been released.

This is the 37th fatal crash this year compared to 29 at this same time last year.
