EVERETT, MA : Suspect in custody after chase through Everett leads to crash on Wednesday, 6th February 2019

Police are searching for two men that initiated a chase in Everett, leading to the arrest of two others, the seizure of multiple firearms and a crash, police said.

Officers attempting to stop a vehicle with no headlights on began pursuing the car, which later crashed on Broadway where four men fled on foot, according to Everett police.

One man witnessed a heavy police presence swarm the crash scene.

“We saw a Jeep on the curb. We saw a bunch of cruisers pull up behind,” he said. “We saw four gentlemen jump out of the vehicle, start running down 99. They booked it with the Everett police in chase.”

Two of the men, whose names have not been released, were taken into custody by Everett, state and transit police a short time later. They are scheduled to be arraigned in Malden District Court on Friday.

Two other men remain on the run.

Officers recovered a gym bag that had been thrown from the vehicle, which contained an AK-47 rifle that was reported stolen from out of state, police said.
