IVA, SC : Coroner responding to deadly early morning crash in Anderson County on Friday, 12th January 2024

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said they have identified the victim from a crash that took place in Iva early Friday morning.

According to the coroner, around 5 a.m., a driver in a box truck was heading north on SC 28 when a driver in a sedan heading south crossed over the center line and hit the box truck head-on. The sedan overturned several times, killing the driver.

The Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 37-year-old Godrey Spell Jr. from Abbeville.
