Two people were hurt in a crash in Butler County Thursday morning.

The crash, involving a car and a tri-axle truck, happened on New Castle Road near Ashley Lane in Worth Township shortly after 5 a.m., a Butler County emergency dispatcher said.

The area is just before Interstate 79 coming out of Slippery Rock.

There was a diesel fuel spill on the roadway. The Trib's news partner, WPXI-TV, said about 125 gallons of fuel had been spilled.

The scene remained active as of about 6:15 a.m.

The emergency dispatcher did not know the status of New Castle Road. WPXI reported that New Castle Road was being closed from Ashley Lane to the interstate.

State police were investigating.
