Quincy, IL : Three people injured in head-on crash on Ill. 57 near Quincy on Wednesday afternoon, April 20, 2016
Three people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on Ill. 57 just south of Quincy.
According to a news release from the Adams County Sheriff's Department, Barbara E. Douglas was driving north on Ill. 57 when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by Terry J. Crim. A third vehicle struck the back of Douglas' vehicle after the crash, which happened on a bridge just north of South 12th at about 3:30 p.m.
Douglas and Crim were taken to Blessing Hospital with moderate injuries. A third person also was taken to Blessing. Richard J. Walker, a passenger in Crim's vehicle, fled the scene after the crash, police said. He was found in a nearby trailer park. He was arrested on two Quincy Police Department tickets. The driver of the third vehicle in the crash was not hurt.
No tickets have been issued in connection with the crash. Ill. 57 was closed for about an hour as a result. Adams County EMS, the Quincy Fire Department and Tri-Township Fire Department assisted.
