Youngsville, PA : Eastbound US Route 6 closed after crash on Sunday, January 4, 2015

The westbound lanes of U.S. Route 6 in Warren County remain closed as crews clean up after an asphalt tanker crash.

The truck crashed and rolled over about 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Brokenstraw Township, near the edge of the Allegheny National Forest. The highway was closed in both directions at that point as crews waited for the hot asphalt to cool so they could peel it up from the highway.

The westbound lanes had reopened by Monday morning, but the eastbound lanes remained closed indefinitely at 9 a.m.

State police in Warren say the driver was rescued from the truck and didn't appear to be seriously injured.

The crash site is about 120 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
