Epping, N.H : Driver seriously hurt in Rt. 125 collision with tractor-trailer on Friday, February 24, 2017
A driver of a compact sport-utility suffered serious injuries in a near head-on collision with a tractor-trailer on Route 125 at mid-morning Friday.
Epping Fire Chief Don DeAngelis said just after 10 a.m., a red 2008 Chevrolet HHR traveling northbound crossed the center line crashing into a tractor-trailer, a half-mile north of Route 87. DeAngelis said authorities do not know if extreme patches of dense fog along Route 125 Friday morning contributed to the crash.
The driver of the car, Samson Duclair, 61, of Raymond, was seriously injured and transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, according to Epping Police Capt. Jason Newman. A helicopter was requested for transport but was unavailable due to the fog conditions. Newman said while Duclair's injuries were serious, he did not believe they were life-threatening.
DeAngelis said the driver of the tractor-trailer, Paul Desrosiers, of Dover, was not hurt. The trailer had a large fuel spill, which the state Department of Environmental Services cleaned up Friday afternoon. As of 1:30 p.m., the section of Route 125 remained shut down.
Emergency crews from Lee, Newmarket, Brentwood and MacGregor EMS in Durham also responded.
