Four people were injured in a two-car crash on Thursday afternoon in rural Eau Claire County.

The vehicles, each containing two adults, collided nearly head-on while traveling in opposite directions at 3:22 p.m. on U.S. 12 near Kempton Road in the town of Fairchild, according to a news release from the county sheriff’s office.Additional information, including the identities and conditions of those involved in the crash, was not available on Thursday evening.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available, the news release stated.

The collision shut down a portion of U.S. 12 between Augusta and the village of Fairchild for a few hours on Thursday afternoon.
