Stamford, CT : Lane reopens after Route 8 crash in the Valley on Wednesday, February 15th 2017

An accident on southbound Route 8 in the Valley that caused miles of traffic delays Wednesday morning, has been cleared.
The accident reported at 8:44 p.m.near Exit 15 in Derby shut down one lane, causing several miles of delays into Seymour.
The lane has reopened, but there were residual delays lasted about 45 minutes longer.
Thick fog and the usual traffic congestion are slowed the morning commute on Wednesday.
The state Department of Transporation reports no major accidents on the roads of southwest Connecticut Wednesday morning.
A southbound accident reported at 8:44 p.m. on Route 8 in Derby is causing several miles of delays into Seymour.
And a northbound accident on Route 15, just after the Sikorsky Memorial Bridge, is also slowing traffic.
Southbound I-95 is mainly congested with no accidents for nearly 15 miles from Bridgeport to Darien.
The southbound Merritt Parkway was also accident free s about 15 miles of delays from Trumbull to Westport and another slowdown from Norwalk to Stamford.
The thickness of the fog depended on where you were.
The thickest fog along I-95 was from Fairfield to New Haven. I-84 between Waterbury and Danbury also had thick fog.
The most dense fog was around 7 a.m. Two hours later the fog lifted.
