Indiantown, FL : Palm City man killed when car hits tree, burns on Martin Highway near Indiantown on Sunday, May 8, 2016

A man from Palm City was killed Sunday when his car struck a tree and caught fire along Martin Highway near Indiantown, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Juan Marrero, 54, was driving a Honda Oddysey eastbound along Martin Highway, near the intersection of Warfield Boulevard. According to the FHP, Marrero’s car veered off the road for an unknown reason, striking a tree and bursting into flames.

Marrero died on scene, according to FHP spokesman Mark Wysocky. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
