LITTLETON, MA : Man suffered serious injuries following a motorcycle crash on Sunday, August 19, 2017

A unidentified man suffered serious injuries following a motorcycle crash on Interstate 495 South at approximately 3:50 p.m. Sunday.

The man was transported by MedFlight to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, according to Massachusetts State Police Deputy Paul Sullivan.

The condition of the man, who was the only person on the bike, as well as how the crash occurred was not immediately available.

The MedFlight helicopter landed in the roadway to access the injured motorcyclist. This forced emergency crews to close 495 South to traffic from approximately 4:20 p.m. to 4:50 p.m., Sullivan said.

The incident remains under investigation.

The Littleton Fire Department assisted at the scene.
