A person was found dead on I-85 in Charlotte Wednesday, according to police.
The incident happened around 10:15 p.m. on southbound I-85 near exit 42, which is the Sugar Creek Road exit. Police said they are conducting a suspicious death investigation.
The victim's name has not been released. Investigators said there may have been an altercation near the road that led to a man being struck by one or more vehicles. The man died from those injuries.
Police said they do not have anyone in custody, but they are also not looking for any suspects in the case.
A heavy police presence could be seen in the area. Traffic was also backed up north of the scene.
