SPRINGFIELD, MO : 12-year-old critically injured while riding scooter in crash involving SUV in west Springfield on Tuesday, 23rd April 2024

Emergency crews rushed a 12-year-old to the hospital with critical injuries after being hit by an SUV.

Officers responded to the crash in the 3700 block of West Division around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Police say the 12-year-old on a scooter was traveling northbound crossing Division when the SUV hit the child.

Police closed the road for a short time. The driver of the SUV cooperated with the investigation.
