We have some new information on what one officer calls the "worst accident of the day".
North Augusta Public Safety officer Kris Howard says there was a four vehicle crash near Exit 6. The collision happened at 1:40 pm.
Officer Howard says the car that caused the collision is totaled. The woman driving that car went to the hospital with head and chest pains. Officer Howard says that the car that caused the crash was going at a high rate of speed and couldn't stop. Traffic was already slowing down for an earlier crash further ahead. He also says the collision was a "combination of inclement weather and the driver not paying attention."
