Springfield man was cited by police in connection with a two-vehicle accident

A Springfield man was cited by police in connection with a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning at 11th Street and Converse Avenue.

Randy S. Finney, 49, of the 1800 block of North 14th Street was heading north on 11th, approaching Converse, about 8:15 a.m. He told police he thought he had a green light and entered the intersection, where his SUV collided with an eastbound car driven by Cynthia Phillips, 53, of the 1900 block of North 23rd Street.

Witnesses told police that Phillips had the green light.

Neither driver was injured, but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Finney was cited for driving on a suspended or revoked license and disobeying a traffic control device.
