SIDNEY, OH : North Star teen killed in crash on Saturday, February 17th 2017

A Versailles High School junior was killed in a one-vehicle crash Saturday morning, Feb. 18, around 2:40 a.m.According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Zachary R. Kelch, 16, of North Star, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that Kelch was westbound on Versailles Road, near Russia, when his 2009 Chevy Malibu went off the right side of the roadway and rolled multiple times. Kelch was ejected from the vehicle.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Russia Fire and Houston Rescue assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Kelch was the son of Lance and Tracey Kelch, of North Star, and Paula (Miller) and Greg Scott, of Versailles. At school, he was a member of the Versailles FFA and enjoyed canoeing, skiing and hanging out with his friends.
