Richmond, IL : 62-year-old Arlington Heights man injured after a motorcycle crash in McHenry County on Saturday, April 16, 2016

A motorcycle crash sent a 62-year-old Arlington Heights man to the hospital with serious injuries Saturday, officials said.

Richmond Township Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Jim Prickett said they were dispatched about 1 p.m. to the area of 7203 Keystone Road near Richmond for the crash.

McHenry County Sheriff's Deputy Aimee Knop said the man was southbound Keystone Road when he went around a turn and maneuvered it incorrectly, causing him to leave the roadway and go into a southbound ditch.

The man was taken by Flight for Life to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening, Knop said.

She said no one else was on the motorcycle, and no tickets were issued.

Wonder Lake Fire Protection District and the McHenry County Sheriff's Office also responded, Prickett said.

The road was closed for about 20 minutes, Prickett said.
