Waco, TX : 2011 Robinson graduate critically hurt in crash early Friday morning, February 24, 2017

A 2011 Robinson Independent School District graduate was critically injured early Friday morning in a crash near the intersection of the Interstate 35 access road and South Valley Mills Drive, authorities said.
Shanna Brown, 24, was driving in a 2010 Cadillac SRX at a high rate of speed on the access road when she tried to turn north onto Valley Mills Drive at about 2 a.m., Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said. The car failed to complete the turn, went up an embankment and struck a light pole before coming to a rest on top of a guardrail, Swanton said.
Waco fire extricated Brown, the only occupant, from the car. Swanton said she suffered "severe trauma" and was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, including a broken neck and back, plus other head and internal injuries.
Swanton said Brown remained in critical condition Friday morning. He said Brown was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Robinson ISD posted on social media that Brown was a 2011 graduate of Robinson High School. The post asks for prayers for Brown after the crash.
