Lubbock,TX : Several residents without power in Central Lubbock after traffic accident in South Lubbock on may, sunday 14th 2017

Lubbock Power & Light, along with the Lubbock Police Department, were on scene in South Lubbock after reports of a traffic accident that left several people without power.

Approximately 288 customers were without power after a traffic accident near the intersection of 82nd Street and Indiana Avenue, according to LP&L spokesman Matt Rose.

He said customers were without power for about 45 minutes as of Sunday evening just after 7 p.m.

The initial call for the traffic accident came in just before 6 p.m., according to police.

There were no reported injuries.

LP&L was still repairing power lines about 7 p.m.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area as LPD had the accident blocked off.
