Leesburg, VA : Child seriously injured in Loudoun County ATV accident Tuesday, April 4, 2017

A Loudoun County child was seriously injured while riding a kid-sized ATV near Route 9 Tuesday, according to the local sheriff's office.

The ATV's throttle apparently became stuck and the ATV and child crashed into a garage, according to LCSO reports.

The child, who was wearing a helmet, was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The incident happened in the 40000 block of Charles Town Pike in Hamilton around 5 p.m.
