Augusta , ME : Two people were critically injured after Car slammed head-on into a another car on Tuesday Morning, 18th November 2014

Augusta police say two people were critically injured in a crash Tuesday morning. The crash happened on Route 17, just east of Cony Road. Police said a car driven by Sally Beane, 49, of Manchester, slammed head-on into a car driven by Lucretia Smith, 51, of Rockland. The women had to be extricated from their vehicles. Police said Beane was taken by helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Smith was taken to Alfond Medical Center in Augusta, but was later transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Beane and Smith are in critical condition, according to police. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Maine State Police are reconstructing the crash. Source : Two critically injured in Augusta crash
