WESTPORT, CT : Entrapment reported in Route 25 accident on Friday, 10th January, 2020

After a vehicle fire caused first responders to briefly close the northbound lanes of the Merritt Parkway Friday, fire officials are asking drivers to be patient with such instances in the future.
The Westport Fire Department Communications Center got a call just before noon for a vehicle fire on the Merritt Parkway. Units responded, with the first engine getting to the scene within four minutes.
The first unit on scene found a single car on the Merritt’s northbound lanes between Exit 42 and Exit 44 engulfed in flames, according to Westport Fire Lt. Joseph Arnson.
