Lawrence County, AL : 49-year-old dies in single-vehicle crash near Mount Hope on Monday, 7th October 2024

A Russellville man is dead after a single-vehicle wreck in Lawrence County.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), 49-year-old Matthew L. Holt was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 that ran off of the road and hit a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and died at the scene.

The wreck happened just before 3:30 p.m. on October 7, 2024 on Lawrence County 50 about two miles north of Mount Hope.
